VEGAN NAPPY CREAM
plant based baby bum bum balm
When I was pregnant, I set out to town to do my baby shopping. I went to the local wholefood shop and bought what I assumed to be the right thing. I brought home nappy and nipple creams which, to my surprise, turned out not to be vegan. I learnt that nappy cream can contain 'cera alba', which means bee's wax, and 'lanolin' means sheep's wool. Some nappies are made from wool. Way back then (two years ago) there wasn't so much plastic free stuff around, so I didn't even think to look for it. I compiled this page in the hope that new vegan parents won't have to make the same mistakes.
When Baby was little we smothered them in nappy cream, and changed them frequently to avoid rashes. Since we started early potty training, we now haven't used it for long time. Hence, I've also included the padded nappy pants we used and the folding travel toilet seat. My child never got into the habit of sitting on potties; since we started off holding them over a bucket, and then moved straight to a toilet seat. If, my flat was larger, and the toilet was far away, I would have encouraged potty use.
